Person-Centered Counselling
Person-Centred Counselling, also known as Client-Centred or Rogerian counselling, is a therapeutic approach developed by psychologist Carl Rogers in the mid-20th century. It’s a humanistic and non-directive form of counselling that places the client at the center of the therapeutic process. The core belief of person-centred counselling is that individuals have the innate capacity for self-awareness and personal growth, and they possess the solutions to their own problems within themselves.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely practiced and effective form of psychotherapy that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It’s based on the premise that our thoughts and interpretations of events significantly influence our emotional and behavioral responses. CBT aims to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors to bring about positive changes in emotional well-being and overall functioning.
Behavioral Therapy
Behavioral therapy, also known as behavior therapy, is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and modifying problematic behaviors and thought patterns to improve an individual’s emotional and mental well-being. It is based on the principles of learning theory and emphasizes the role of environmental factors in shaping behavior. Behavioral therapy is action-oriented and often involves specific techniques to change behaviors that are causing distress or impairing daily functioning.
Humanistic Therapy
Humanistic therapy, also known as humanistic psychology or humanism, is a therapeutic approach that emphasizes an individual’s inherent capacity for self-awareness, personal growth, and the pursuit of self-actualization. It’s founded on the belief that individuals possess the potential for positive change and the ability to make meaningful choices in their lives. Humanistic therapy focuses on the whole person, including thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and spirituality.
